How GTB AI uses artificial intelligence to generate lesson plans and teaching materials, and what that means for you.
Last updated: March 14, 2026
GTB AI uses a large language model (LLM) to generate structured lesson plans, differentiation packs, formative assessments, parent communication notes, substitute teacher packs, and weekly unit plans. The AI operates within a locked 11-component pedagogical framework — meaning the structure of every lesson is fixed and consistent, while the content is generated dynamically based on the specific grade, subject, strand, and skill you select.
AI-generated lesson plans are designed to be educationally sound and standards-aligned, but they are not a substitute for professional educator judgment. We strongly recommend that all teachers review and adapt generated content before use in the classroom. Curriculum standards, school policies, and individual student needs vary — the AI cannot account for every context. GTB AI is a tool to support educators, not replace them.
Our Contact Us page uses an AI support agent to provide instant responses to common enquiries about the platform, curriculum, billing, and technical issues. The AI agent's response is a first-line reply — a human team member reviews all submissions and follows up within 1 business day for complex issues. The AI agent does not have access to your account data when responding to contact form submissions.
All AI-generated content is anchored to specific standards from our curriculum database — USA Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Grades 1–8, and Trinidad & Tobago Ministry of Education standards for Infants A, Infants B, and Standards 1–6. The AI is instructed to generate content that is appropriate for the specified grade level and aligned to the selected standard. However, educators should verify alignment with their school's specific scope and sequence.
GTB AI's AI system is configured to generate only educational content appropriate for K–5 classroom settings. The system prompt explicitly restricts the AI from generating content that is harmful, discriminatory, politically biased, or inappropriate for children. If you encounter any generated content that appears inappropriate, please report it immediately through our Contact Us page.
GTB AI uses a third-party AI model provider. Lesson generation requests are sent to this provider's API. The provider's data processing terms apply to these API calls. We have configured our integration to minimise data sharing — only the curriculum parameters listed in Section 2 are transmitted. We do not use your lesson generations to train or fine-tune AI models.
We continuously improve the AI prompts, framework, and curriculum data that power GTB AI. Changes to AI capabilities may affect the style, structure, or depth of generated content over time. We will communicate significant changes through the platform. The 11-component lesson framework will remain the consistent foundation of all lesson generation.
If you have questions about how AI is used in GTB AI, or if you have concerns about a specific piece of generated content, please contact us through our Contact Us page. We take AI transparency seriously and will respond to all enquiries within 1 business day.
